Wednesday, 31 October 2012 to Friday, 02 November 2012
"Keeping the Historic Memory"

The importance given to archives in order to preserve the history is growing in the current globalizing areas. Since computer science development, the repeated use of technologies for information and communication has supported other services with a scientific background. New management techniques as well as new studies on conservation and restoration have a major goal to improve the archival work.

The 16th Workshop about History and Archivology is being organized by the National Archive of the Republic of Cuba (ARNAC, by its Spanish acronym). This workshop aims to facilitate the knowledge sharing among specialists, technicians, and researchers from different social science areas. In addition, increasing the institutional cooperation in the field of archival work, conservation, restoration and historical studies will be another approach along with encouraging the use of information and communication technologies in the development of archival products.
